Mechanical Design Portfolio

One of my goals is to design and engineer for extreme environments. Linked is my mechanical design projects. These projects range from a personalized stamp to an 8x8 LED grid designed to produce a raining pattern. I hope that these projects will give you an idea of my work. Business Creation and Pitching - Proceeon

In May of 2020, my design team and I were tasked with creating a solution for some of the challenges presented by the first few months of the COVID-19 pandemic. We decided to design around the challenge that many recently unemployed people faced: the gap in benefits between employees and the recently unemployed.

Our team design Proceeon, a crowdfunding platform that initially focuses on providing artists and creators with benefits. The idea is that if people feel like they have a social safety net they will feel more likely to take innovative risks and contribute back to the workforce. You can check out our presentation to the right or check out the promo video below.

We and your community help provide your safety nets so you can breathe easy.

Rapid Prototyping - Task Analysis and Brush Redesign

Every good product starts with a good story. My group was tasked with finding a product that we all had ergonomic issues with and we all discussed the design of a hairbrush. Our group all had different types of hair, yet noticed that hairbrushes all have similar designs. We designed by rapid prototyping and creating CADs. Each of these designs was then tested against users, following RULA sheets to determine the usability of each design. In the end, we realized that most brushes have been designed pretty well for different hair types, but could use more length than most brushes provide and provide a better grip. Check out our process in the gallery to the left.
